REVIEW :

One Punch Man’s story is simple- The story of an average guy who’s a hero for fun.
Now what makes this unique is that this show is a parody. For people new to that genre, it’s an imitation of other work.
This is a story made to enjoy, not to be taken seriously. Anyone who is open-minded will enjoy this anime to its full extent.

Though there may be be some negatives, but at the end of the day, I walked away with a title that constantly kept me entertained.
The fights were great fun, the animation was handled with care, the OST was kickass, the satirical jabs kept me cackling. There is no walking in on naked girl scenes, boob-grabbing, fan service and other shit like that.

Even the simple dialogues between the characters make you laugh hard.
This anime was made to enjoy, and One Punch Man nails the formula.

OVERALL :

One Punch Man is a show that can keep even the most jaded of audiences entertained and I think it's worth trying out. But as an action-comedy that's out to simply have fun and revel in the absurdity of its story. It isn't a title that will break new ground anytime soon.

Is One Punch Man over-hyped? a little bit, Yes. But does that make it inherently bad? No, it doesn't.
Overall, One Punch Man does what it sets out to deliver, Entertainment.
And boy oh boy it does so in style!!

Drake & Josh - Review

" HUG ME, BROTHAAA....!!! "

Drake & Josh is an American television sitcom created by Dan Schneider for Nickelodeon.
The series follows the lives of two teenage boys with opposite personalities, Drake Parker (Drake Bell) and Josh Nichols (Josh Peck), who become stepbrothers.

PLOT:

The series is focused on a pair of stepbrothers who have opposite personalities.
Drake Parker is a popular but immature aspiring musician and able to court a countless array of girls with ease, whereas Josh Nichols has trouble with dating and popularity.
Drake and Josh live with Josh's geeky father, a weatherman named Walter and Drake's loving mother Audrey; and his manipulative and conniving younger sister Megan.
The two boys are often involved in comedic misadventures in their teenage life of school, dating, and popularity.
Over the course of the series, both Josh and Drake change and their relationship develops:
Josh loses weight and becomes more popular, while Drake matures and start caring  other people, especially his stepbrother, whom he eventually calls his "brother" instead of "stepbrother."

POSITIVES:

This is not only the best TV-series on Nickelodeon but also one of the best TV-series ever!!!

When the first time I've seen it I absolutely fell in love with it and I never miss a single episode.
Every episode is very, very entertaining, funny and has an amazing story.
Another thing I really like about the show is when Drake & Josh talk to the audience about each other before it starts because it builds up the funny mood.
They both act really well.

If you want to watch TV that offers sheer, unadulterated enjoyment then you need to see this show. It's hilarious, feel-good and uplifting. The chemistry between the two is amazing.

The humour in the show is excellent and is enjoyable by any class of audience.
There are many classic moments that I can't even begin to pick out individual ones.

NEGATIVES:

The only downside to the programme is that when I'm watching it's so amazing and so feel-good that when it's over I just want to die.
Yes, there won't be a single flaw in this amazing show.

OVERALL:

I would recommend this to all ages and everyone in the family will enjoy it.
If you watch it, I'll promise you you'll watch it again and again.

Elfen Lied - Review

"Aren't we all monsters inside? - Lucy"

Elfen Lied Poster

Synopsis:

A humanoid test subject known as a Diclonius escapes from a lab somewhere, protected by some sort of supernatural powers. She literally paves her way through a sea of blood of her own making and falls into a sea after a failed attempt of stopping her permanently with a sniper.

Lucy is a special breed of human referred to as "Diclonius," born with a short pair of horns and invisible telekinetic hands that lands her as a victim of inhumane scientific experimentation by the government.
However, once circumstances present her an opportunity to escape,
Lucy, corrupted by the confinement and torture, unleashes a torrent of bloodshed as she escapes her captors.

History:

Elfen Lied is based on Lynn Okamoto's seinen manga series of the same name and premiered while the manga was still in publication. The anime follows the source material through the first 7 volumes, with several alterations to the story, and concludes with an exclusive ending
In an interview, director Mamoru Kanbe expressed his disappointment in having to 'condense' to story into 13 episodes and felt that more were needed to include significant plot details that would have made the series more emotive.

Review:

The story itself was okay, but not really anything special. For the most part it was somewhat compromised to favor action scenes. The only part of the story that really interested me was Lucy's past which did not disappoint, other than that the story wasn't that great.
Before I started watching Elfen Lied I was informed by many that the series was amazing and groundbreaking because of all the blood and gore.

Well they got the blood part right, but gore was not evident. Let me clarify, gore is not getting decapitated or losing limbs, gore is being cut in half and having your innards strewn across a lengthy flight of stairs exposing your ribs and spinal cord for all to see.

To sum up, it was average. Nothing to really hate about it, just didn't live up to the hype. The idea was great, the follow through was terrible.

Overall:

It's over-hyped, over-rated and most definitely NOT a classic.
While it wasn't exactly bad, it wasn't the amazing show that people had me believing it was.

Sorry folks, only three for this Anime!

Tokyo Ghoul - Review

"What's 1000 minus 7 ?"

tokyo ghoul poster

World:

Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, carnivorous monsters who look exactly like normal people but can only survive by eating human flesh,
live among the humans in secret, hiding their true nature to escape from Anti Ghoul Squad.

Including enhanced speed, senses, and regenerative ability, a regular ghoul is several times stronger than a normal human. They have piercing weapons and has at least one special predatory organ called a "Kagune" & this mutation is known as a "kakugan."

Ken Kaneki
Ken Kaneki

In the case of a half-ghoul, only one of the eyes undergoes the transformation. A half-ghoul can either be born naturally as a ghoul and a human's offspring,
or artificially created by transplanting some ghoul organs into a human. In both cases, a half-ghoul is usually much stronger than a pure-blood ghoul.

Review:

For the most part, Tokyo Ghoul’s storytelling was decent. It explored the different aspects of the ghoul community and made its point simple and concise. There isn’t anything too fancy or well done with its storytelling.

Tokyo Ghoul is quick to establish the lore with the Wards (sectors), the Doves (anti ghoul police), and different types of ghouls.

This last point emphasized by Anteiku and it’s here that Kaneki spends most of his time deliberating between his new and unique situation.
The plot itself didn’t seem to be headed in any clear direction, but splits itself into different ‘mini-plots’ (similar to different story arcs in the manga) as Kaneki observes the different ghouls coming in and out of the cafe, and learns their own perspective of being a ghoul.

Touka image
Touka

While this in itself is fine, it creates other problems for character development and overall pacing.
This is clear at the show’s 9th episode when there is a ghoul invasion in one of the other wards.
It’s clear that this is the climax of the show, yet it feels blatantly out of place from the ‘mini-arc’ format the show was using so far.
There was hardly any buildup leading up to the massive invasion and the last 4 episodes seemed to compress as much content as possible by amplifying up the pace, shown by the sudden high stakes and side characters being quickly introduced.

It’s clear the ending was very rushed
Simply put, the show’s plot lacked focus. It did not take advantage of the interesting premise they had to work with.

Overall:

Tokyo Ghoul is one of the more hyped up anime this season for a number of reasons. Mainly because it was, as I have heard, a very popular manga.

To conclude in one line, we can say that the anime creators had done a poor job in adapting the manga master-piece.
I felt that Tokyo ghoul is purely overrated after watching the anime.
But, for the case of manga, you can see a huge difference in storytelling and it paces with clarity whereas anime includes some confusion as it moves on.

Anteiku members group image

Many of my trusted & well-known sources agreed unanimously, that Tokyo ghoul falls under those anime which has an excellent source of manga but didn't succeed that much in anime.

It will bore you out in the middle of season 1 and picks up in last few episodes with some real good action sequences.
Season 2 can generate some interest on the show as it reveals more backstories of all characters.

The Flash - Review

After being struck by lightning, Barry Allen wakes up from his coma to discover he's been given the power of super speed, becoming The Flash.

flash poster image

Overview:

The Flash is an American superhero television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns, airing on The CW. It is based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen / Flash, a costumed superhero crime-fighter with the power to move at superhuman speeds.

The Flash premiered in North America on October 7, 2014, where the pilot became the second-most watched premiere in the history of The CW, after The Vampire Diaries in 2009. It has been well received by critics and audiences, and won the People's Choice Award for "Favorite New TV Drama" in 2014.

Review:

If you had asked me a couple of years ago what the best super hero TV show at the time was, I would have said The Flash.

The show started excellently well with a gripping pilot and a good story line. It starts with how Barry Allen becomes The Flash starting with how he gets his powers, then learns how to use/control them and then tries to solve the mystery of his mother's death to avenge his father. Overall season 1 was superb! Season 2 was weak when it comes to the story line but the excitement of seeing new metas, cross over episodes and 'team flash' developing some individual abilities of their own makes watching the season worthwhile.

flash poster 2

Season 3 has been average at best and my rating of flash that started from a full 10 has dropped to 7 over two years. Constant time traveling and meddling with things not only gets confusing in my opinion, but also makes you lose interest.

I would definitely recommend people to give this show a go (especially if you are a DC fan) but the eventual and constant decline of the show is pretty obvious as you go on with the episodes.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - Review

"In order for something to be obtained, something of equal value must be lost."

fullmetal alchemist brotherhood poster image

Synopsis:

Alchemy is bound by this Law of Equivalent Exchange - something the young brothers Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric only realize after attempting human transmutation: the one forbidden act of alchemy. They pay a terrible price for their transgression - Edward loses his left leg, Alphonse his physical body. It is only by the desperate sacrifice of Edward's right arm that he is able to affix Alphonse's soul to a suit of armor. Devastated and alone, it is the hope that they would both eventually return to their original bodies that gives Edward the inspiration to obtain metal limbs called auto-mail and become a state alchemist, the Full=metal Alchemist.

History:

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is an alternate retelling of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist manga that is closer to the source material than the previous 2003 adaptation, this time covering the entire story.
First anime, Fullmetal Alchemist was made (previous version of FMA: Brotherhood) and got good response but it caught up to the manga and continued it on it's own with the anime creators making it different from the actual manga. This version's ending is an extreme disappointment for major class of audience.
So a new series which follows and adapts the manga up to the ending has been released. It is named as Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood.

Positives:

The animation in FMA Brotherhood is crisp and very well done (although it does sometimes dip a bit in quality). Compared to the original FMA it's a bit simpler but that's just because the original set a very high standard to follow. The facial emotions of the characters are also perfectly presented. The action scenes are brilliant and VERY well animated, with a variety of alchemy techniques and other talents being displayed nearly every episode. The various battles are consistently exciting to watch, but somehow get even better towards the end of the series.

The voice acting is of an excellent and consistent quality, and I think that pretty much all the characters have voice actors which suit their personalities. The majority of the openings/endings are a pleasure to watch due to fantastic animated sequences and theme songs. The background music which play during the episodes usually fit very well with the situation, although some tracks seem to be overused a little at first. This becomes less of a problem as the series progresses, with plenty of new music being introduced to support the story as it reaches the finale.

Characters:

Characters are the best thing about this series.
Though it explores side characters to great detail the majority of the spotlight is still on the two brothers New characters include a group of people from Xing (a neighbouring country), another person from the Armstrong family, Oliver Armstrong (who I think has become one of the coolest members of the supporting cast), and a new main antagonist. For me, the Xingese characters in particular (Ling Yao and Mei Chang among others) provide a new dimension to the FMA world, by showing us a different culture to the militaristic one we're familiar with. Plus, Winry Rockbell now has a much more active role in the story.

fma brotherhood poster image

Negatives:

FMA: Brotherhood belongs to those group, where it is hard for us to point out the flaws.
The only drawback in my view is that the backstory of Elric's father and his relation with homunculus (in the jar) linking with the transmutation circles drawn over the country wide and the promised day concepts can be confusing. Little more elaboration would have been better.
Apart from this, everything is Excellent.

Overall:

One of the many good things about this series is that there has been absolutely no filler at all, which prevents the story from losing momentum. All the episodes are concise and every scene is important as part of the huge plot. The dialogue fully explains everything and is straight to the point.
There are moments which leave you smiling, laughing, sad and simply amazed.
Try this anime, it's absolutely worth a watch for everyone.

Fairy Tail - Review

I'M ALL FIRED UP NOW!! FIRE DRAGON'S....ROOOAARRRR.....!!

Fairy Tail Poster Image

Plot:

In the mystical land of Fiore, magic exists as an essential part of everyday life. Countless magic guilds lie at the core of all magical activity, and serve as venues for like-minded mages to band together and take on job requests. Among them, Fairy Tail stands out from the rest as a place of strength, spirit, and family.

Fairy Tail Guild's Emblem

Pros:

The members of the Fairy Tail guild are an interesting bunch to say the least. Since they can all use magic their fighting styles are extremely diverse. After the first season you will feel like you know the members of the guild personally. There are dozens you are introduced to and you will most likely remember their names because the show does that good of a job at giving the characters a long lasting impression. When something happens to one of the members of the guild it will probably make you sad.

fairy tail image 2

You won’t even realize you have an emotional attachment to these characters until something happens. It is almost as if you are blind-sided a bit by the connection you have with the Fairy Tail guild members, and you will most definitely have a connection with the members as you will most likely see yourself in one of them. I guess it doesn’t hurt that this anime had an all-star voice cast to help with making you like the characters.

It's comedy, drama, action, some romance, all in one. The great thing about Fairy Tail is that it contains not as much fillers as other shows. There are so many twists to this show it's always exciting. Though, in season 3, I did feel they slacked off a bit. No surprise because none of season 3 was in the manga so basically it was a big filler tied in with the main story line I suppose. When it got to the games arc it really picked up again. And that last episode (175) is a much watch.

Grand Magic Games arc is alone an obsolute worth to watch Fairy Tail.
The plot of seven dragons and their mysterious disappearing maintains a good suspense and generates curiosity for watchers.
Zeref is one helluva villain for the series who will be introduced around 90th episode of the anime.
Acnologia and Zeref are introduced in the same arc (Tenrou Island - S-class promotion arc) and thereby uncovering many details about dragons.
Zeref Image
Zeref

Music:

Sound Tracks make you go "hell yeah, go fairy tail!" every time the main theme for their fighting scenes plays.
The score, done by Yasuharu Takanashi, does well in delivery the tones from intense to sad to flat out silly (and in many ways, saves the show in its weak moments).

Cons:

Fillers!
Yes, there are fillers, but not as many as other ongoing Shounen series such as Naruto or One Piece, and Fairy Tail moves at a quicker pace then both and the fillers for the most part are stand alone episodes in which the animators and studio story writers have a ball doing. The humor is very silly and childish, which is actually a plus I think.
It's definitely not the best series out there, but it has a lot of potential.
Repetitive plot arcs, deviating dramatic scenes from the main plot stories.
Side plots aren't much of a help. (say, Celestial Rebellion Arc)
Influences from other Anime like Naruto and One Piece.

Overall:

As a watcher of many animes, and the way one can tell how good or entertaining a series is is how it captures me in the first few episodes. Fairy Tail manages to do exactly that. Sure there are going to be a few weak points and continuity within the story, but there are plenty of strong points too. A good and bad note for the series is how there are so many characters within; it can be good because some characters you'll connect with better then others, but that is also a bad thing since it divides much needed attention to what is relevant at the moment, however Hiro Mashima handles it quite well.

It is a good solid series that I recommend.

Sherlock (TV - Series) - Review

Sherlock Holmes is the best detective character written out there in literature.

History:

Sherlock Holmes is a fictional private detective created by British author
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Referring to himself as a "consulting detective" in the stories, Holmes is known for his proficiency with observation, forensic science, and logical reasoning that borders on the fantastic, which he employs when investigating cases for a wide variety of clients, including Scotland Yard.

Author:

Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle, was a British writer best known for his detective fiction featuring the character Sherlock Holmes.
Originally a physician, in 1887 he published A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson
In addition, Doyle wrote over fifty short stories featuring the famous detective. The Sherlock Holmes stories are generally considered milestones in the field of crime fiction.

Television Series Adaptation:

Sherlock is created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, it stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Dr. John Watson.

Sherlock has received critical acclaim, with many reviews praising the quality of the writing, performances, and direction.

Most of us have been an avid fan of Sherlock Holmes from a very young age, and many of their first reaction upon hearing of a modern TV remake was "oh boy, they are so going to screw this up".
But, we needn't have worried. It was a terrific, fast-paced, edge-of-the-seat adventure. Benedict Cumberbatch (what a name!) brings a dark edginess to Holmes that gives the whole piece a 'delightful badass' feel, while Martin Freeman - if the first episode is anything to go by - will make a perfect foil as Watson. Casting is so important and this combination feels just right.

Sherlock, Watson & Mycroft Iconic Poster image

Unlike so many other TV adaptations and especially ones that are modernized, i found it witty, clever and above all, entertaining. It was extremely reverential of its considerable pedigree and included a large number of coded references and callbacks for the more avid fan, e.g. the use of scratches around a
persons mobile phone charger port to indicate a drunkard rather than a pocket watches winding keyhole.

Cumberbatch is a fantastic choice for Sherlock Holmes-he is physically right (he fits the traditional reading of the character) and he is a damn good actor.

Dragon Ball Z - Review

Dragon Ball Z is one of the earliest shounen animes along side others.Dragon Ball Z is epic. No doubt this is one of the most popular series that helped spread the art of anime in the world.
Dragon Ball Z Logo

Synopsis:

Five years after winning the World Martial Arts tournament, Goku is now living a peaceful life with his wife and son. This changes, however, with the arrival of a mysterious enemy named Raditz who presents himself as Goku's long-lost brother. He reveals that Goku is a warrior from the once powerful but now virtually extinct Saiyan race, whose home world was completely annihilated.
With his failed attempt at forcibly recruiting Goku as an ally, Raditz warns Goku's friends of a new threat that's rapidly approaching Earth. A war will be fought over the seven mystical dragon balls, and only the strongest will survive in Dragon Ball Z.

Story:

Story is good, drags out a little but good if you get into it, you will be disappointed the episodes come to an end. Although the same thing happens, bad guy comes, people defend, the fight sequences and opponents are mostly unique to their powers and reasons to wanting to conquer Earth. This pretty much keeps it unique.
Well, if you've never seen this show, you must have been living in some kind of strange alternate dimension.!

Positives:

Dragonball Z story is very enjoyable and will leave you hanging on the edge of your seat or cursing at your TV. The show has a lot of Fights and they are amazing it is what every one wants to see super powerful beings Kicking the Crap into each other. Dragon ball Z has quite a bit of Humor as well example: Krillin (not being able to get Girls or getting his butt Kicked all the Time) Goku (Food Humor and idiocy) Vegeta (Goku getting on His nerves).
dragon ball z goku image

Negatives:

Dragon Ball Z is best served on television serialization in daily basis (one episode per each weekday) than typical one season -per day -watchers.
so, you can't get the feel now if you watch it in laptop or stream it throughout the day. We have to grow up with it for the best Experience.
Every arc has almost the same plot line i.e a new villain comes to the Earth and starts carnage in the motive of destroying human world, when & where our Z fighters will come to save the day and finally, Goku finishes off in his style.

Overall:

I started watching Dragonball Z at a very young age and even when I was young I loved it although I didn't know what was going on. I grew up watching the English dub on Cartoon Network and fell in love with the Show. Dragonball Z is an Epic Anime with brilliant fight scene's and great characters.
If you are Looking for a Great Fighting Anime look no further.
I can safely say that Dragonball Z is one of the contender for King of Fighting Anime.

Naruto - Review

If someone says they aren't familiar with NARUTO, then they have no right to call themselves an Otaku.
Naruto Poster

Synopsis:

Moments prior to Naruto Uzumaki's birth, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, the Nine-Tailed Fox, attacked Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village, and wreaked havoc. In order to put an end to the Kyuubi's rampage, the leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto.
Now, Naruto is a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja still living in Konohagakure. Shunned because of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village, while his burning desire to become the Hokage of Konohagakure leads him not only to some great new friends, but also some deadly foes.

Naruto:

Naruto is the story of battling ninjas, sure, but on the more personal level, it's a story of growing up. At the start, the main three characters, Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke, are very much children. They go to school, have classes, and are assigned to their very first team as apprentices to a master ninja. Then the story transitions into their learning to be a team and facing conflicts in their local area before moving on to steadily grander threats.

Naruto will be an addiction to anyone who watches the opening 4-5 episodes.
Graduation exam, team division, sensei introduction scenes are the type of ones every anime would like to as it's opening arc.
Zabuza arc is excellently illustrated and animated which will be a teaser for the insane fights that are to come in the anime.Especially, Kakashi vs. Zabuza is an obsolute bliss to watch.
The fights are well balanced with action and mind tactics, which is a very rare-ish thing to find in most of the anime world.

Next comes the Chunin Exam Arc followed by Destruction of Hidden Leaf by Sand which will be enough to make us watch the show no matter how long it is!
we can enjoy the action sequences which can be called as brains with beauty.
After Sasuke left the village with Hidden Sound's 5, Sasuke-Retrieval Arc begins and each character's true power is unleashed.
Until this arc, we won't find a single filler in the anime and is an obsolute delight to watch.

Naruto Shippuden:

The main strength of the series is It's characters that drives the plot. which we will discuss in detail later. After the first 70 episodes , things begins to get lot more interesting really fast. The world of shinobi gets expanded exponentially , and If you're a fan of deep lore in stories , this will fit right in your wheel house because it begins to explore the roots of it's world , the history very deeply.
A thing that the series does very well is explaining it's concepts to the viewer. The techniques that characters use , How the things in shinobi world works are explained in detail and the concept of Chakra , and what a versatile power system it is compared to other shounens really stands out.

The amount of themes explored in the series are vast , It explores all the basic themes and as it goes on it delves into themes such as the nature of humans , self sacrifice , discrimination , manipulation , roots of war and peace , difference of perceptions , the line between good and evil , alienation as such. It manages to deal with all these themes without abandoning the feel.
Naruto Shippuden Image

You will see friends become foes , foes become friends , Unlikely alliances formed and broken , That precious character you loved die. revenge plots , plot twists , characters grow , politics , romances , the world itself change. There are some flaws but it's a full package and the writer always seemed to have the ending and everything planned out from the very beginning.

Music:

One word - FANTASTIC MUSIC, I repeat it's FANTASTIC!. Yasuharu Takanashi (Music Composer) have made a masterpiece of an soundtrack for this series that manages to highlight the intensity , the tragedies and sorrow when the series needs to. The emotions that Kishimoto (creator) wants to portray makes it through to us so well because of this soundtrack , it connects us with the world of Naruto Shippuden in an odd way.
Soundtracks like Orochimaru's theme and pain's theme will haunt you.
I would give 11/10 rating! It's that good.

Flaws:

  1. Fillers
  2. Fillers
  3. Repetitive Flashbacks / Backstories
  4. Fillers
  5. Fillers

Overall:

Naruto Shippuden is more of an experience that needs to be experienced than just a mere show. It played with our emotions for over a decade and now it has been concluded. The enjoyment of Naruto Shippuden goes beyond just the series itself.
This series got a very big community and fanbase that you could interact with. And it's lore is so vast that you would never run out of things to discuss about it.
Although it has it share of major flaws , This series is an journey that shouldn't be missed if you're fine with being committed to the series.

This is a series that defined a generation.
I would definitely say that it is a MUST WATCH!

Death Note - Review

Death Note is a unique show that brings a new meaning to the concept of Death Gods. Death Note would have to be the finest written non-action, non-romance anime/manga of our time, with a story that can easily get you hooked.

This is the setting of this incredibly unique show. The first two episodes are capable of getting almost any anime fan hooked, to this thought-provoking show. Underneath all the death and normal day-to-day occurrences is a battle of wits, where you have two geniuses Light and L, constantly trying to outsmart each other. During these mental clashes it is easy to change the side you support, as both characters are so alike but with different ideals.

Story:

Death Note gets a 10 in the story department, because of the way the plot unravels. The story is unique one. A notebook falls from the sky, and the human who writes a name in it is capable of killing the individual pictured in his mind.
Yagami Light, who obtains this power to kill, utilizes it in hopes of creating a utopia in which he is god.
Death Note presents the viewers with questions  which cannot be easily answered. This series challenges the viewers morals and for that, it deserves highly.

Characters and Music:

The character designs are highly detailed and strangely enough, even a lot of detail is put into something as simple as writing that it can make anything seem so dramatic. There's really nothing negative that can be said about the animation because no corners were cut in the production process.
The music helps add to the spectacular viewing experience, with the addicting opening and ending themes and a superb orchestra score to back it up.This definitely has to be one of the most ingenious shows ever!
With great and power and ambition, Yagami Light is forced to play a chair gripping game of cat and mouse with those who seek to detain him.The way L attempts to persecute Light is something I have never witnessed in an anime.
The chase between L and Light is very very engaging. They are constantly out-witting each other and the mind games are exciting, always keeping you on edge. The first 15 episodes will magically draw you closer and closer to the scene as suspense hangs over their individual methods for identifying the other.

Overall:

Death Note is definitely one of the best anime series of all time, for it presents a deeply unique and compelling story rivaled by few. I can truly say it is one of the best, if not the best anime I've watched.
However, there is nothing perfect in the universe. The flaws begin once it is apparent that there will be a second arc. This to me, seemed like an unnecessary way of drawing out the anime.Somewhere in between, an awesome twist comes and an awesome character disappears in an awesome manner. The episodes that follow are not so awesome anymore.
Although, there might be some minute flaws and a few boring scenes, we can blindly conclude that:
Death Note is a Gem. A masterpiece.
It's something that can bring your mind to an eternal state of thought.

Cloister Black
Light and L are depicted as opposites in just about every way. Watch episode 2 again: you'll see that Light uses a PC and L uses a Mac.

When L wants to communicate without revealing his identity, he uses a capital L as his symbol. The letter comes from a real font called Cloister Black.
Early in the planning of Death Note, Near and Mello were intended to be L's twin sons. That idea was shot down because neither Ohba nor Obata could imagine L having sex. They must not write fan fiction.
Author Tsugumi Ohba has a hidden identity.
